Brittany Maynard’s Journey and Other Thoughts

Brittany did end her life on November 1st as she felt her health was rapidly declining and she could lose her autonomy about choosing how her physical life would end. It is heart wrenching to think what her and her family have been through during her illness. There were and I’m sure will be some amazing life lessons learned through it all, though.

One reason I talked about Brittany was because I was curious about the cause of her illness. I will explore some more thoughts on that soon. One thing that I heard about recently that shocked me was about a parasite that racoons can transmit. I’ve had many many encounters with coons as they live in the trees in our yard. Our puppy has changed their habits some but they are still here. Mummy Funny Ear (She has one ear that is not quite as erect as the other and has brought her babies to show me, hence the name.) lives up the big cedar right in the middle of our yard and is a sweet shy little lady. I have had encounters in the past with ‘chicken eaters’…yes they stole our chickens but again our fault, they were just trying to survive. So I actually like the little critters and enjoy their antics but knowing what I know now, I don’t encourage them. Like I said, I’ll talk more about this parasite this week but just be aware that this can be deadly although it is rare. So if there are coon feces (they use specially designated latrines) in your area, make sure you don’t touch them or let your children or pets get into them. These parasites can cause terrible devastation to the brain. They don’t seem to impact the coons but other animals and humans can fall victim. It is RARE but certainly something to be aware of. I’m not saying that this is what happened to Brittany at all but it is an example of a parasite causing brain deterioration.

I did have some people comment on my blog with thoughts like what about EMFs etc. All a possibility as a cause, but can’t be sure. More later…

Brittany Maynard-Thoughts?

A blog caught my attention about 29 year old Brittany and her ordeal with brain cancer. She has chosen to end her life on November 1st through assisted suicide. She is adamant that it isn’t suicide as the cancer will take her anyway in a cruel way. This is the last bit of control she has over the disease…how it will end and she has chosen a peaceful way to go as opposed to a horrific debilitating journey to the end of her physical life. She moved from California to Oregon because the laws are in her favour in Oregon. In California she would have had no choice but to die in a nasty way. When a person is suicidal they are usually clinically depressed and they see no other way out. She on the other hand, wants to live but knows that the cancer is incurable and also knows how the final weeks will be. She knows her prognosis and the signs that she is approaching the point when the quality of her life will decline rapidly. She has chosen not to go through that herself or to put her family through the ordeal. Right or wrong depends on your belief system. For her, she obviously hasn’t taken this decision lightly and hopefully this is the right choice for her. I prefer not to pass judgement as one can only know how a person in this position feels if you have been there yourself. My heart goes out to her and her family as they go through this incredibly trying process.

I always like to know ‘Why’? I probably drove my parents crazy. So as I thought about Brittany’s plight, I got to wondering that very question. Not from a standpoint of why her per se but from the point of what would cause this physically. I wondered if parasites could be part of it. I did some research and found a little bit of info but not much supporting that idea for the type of brain cancer she has (gliablastoma) but I did find some info about the possible connection to a virus (I believe related to herpes) and even to malaria. So I thought about the fact that she had traveled widely and wondered if she could have come into contact with something during her travels. This post today isn’t about pinning down the exact cause as I think there are multiple reasons for some cancers to develop. We do know that infections like staph and strep can be involved in many types of cancer. After all, staph is commonly behind cysts, carbuncles, boils and tumours. Often there will be multiple infections and there may be fungus or parasites involved too. Viruses can get in on the fun as the person progresses in the disease. So don’t take lightly that cyst that can turn into something more.

I don’t have cancer and hopefully never will. However, I could have gone down that road. When I was 7, I was in hospital ( a great place to get infections) for tests and when I came out I remember this awful huge boil on my leg. That was the start of my fun with staph infection. What followed was a roller coaster ride of staph infestations. Well really it was the same infection that would go and hide and then come out to play periodically. I had sties (eyes) from time to time. When I was 9 or 10 I developed a mass of horrid weeping sores on my butt. I spent the summer laying on my stomach. In my early teens I had impetigo (staph) which is quite contagious. In a town of 2000, I was the only one with it so I assume it was my reoccurring staph again. Also, in my teens I had pimples that I was told were acne but it didn’t look like other people’s acne. Again staph. As I got into university years I would get horrific colds and huge swollen lymph glands in my neck…staph. Around that time I would get this strange thought that would go through my head…Hodgkin’s, Hodgkin’s, Hodgkin’s. I didn’t really even know what that was at the time but it’s lymphoma. I didn’t know I had a staph infection during all this. At the time I didn’t even relate it all. It was much later that I figured it all out.

So eventually I met my husband. In the next few years he embarked on learning the system of CRA (Contact Reflex Analysis). I was tested regularly and lo and behold, one day staph showed up. Hmmmmm… So I went on a program to eradicate in. It took about 3 months with a product to boost my thymus (immune) and another one to clean up the wastes. If you don’t clean up the die off from the bacteria, if can recirculate and reinfect you. After that I never had any of those staph like symptoms again. Thankfully, knowing what I know now! I’m telling you this today so you can see how something that seems so minor like a boil, can mushroom into possibly cancer. Would it have? I don’t know but my intuition says yes.

So I’m just sharing this so you can be aware and hopefully be more observant of some of your own tendencies or your children’s and prevent a problem in the future.

What You Probably Don’t Know About Breast Cancer Prevention

KOLBribbon

Upend the pink ribbon!

It’s breast cancer awareness month which I think is another ploy by big pharma to scare the living daylights out of everyone and sell more mammograms and drugs. Have to rant a bit you know:) Drowning in a sea of pink ribbons…being forced to have my hot beverage at my local co-op in a pink freaking cup!! I DO NOT want to contribute to the cancer foundation this month or ever. They don’t want a cure so supporting them is a crime. http://thinkbeforeyoupink.org/?p=2191 (Someone that has had breast cancer and feels the same way…yeah!) Check it out…it will make you think again. Sometimes we get on these band wagons and we don’t even know what’s behind it all. Another peeve…’Cops for Cancer’. Why are they ‘for’ it? Shouldn’t they be against it? Arggghhh!! It might just seem like semantics but think again. Here’s another link…http://womenwcancer.blogspot.ca/2011/09/upending-pink.html

So here’s our take on breast cancer and this is becoming much more known in the holistic health world. So down the road there will be more of this in the headlines. Here’s an excerpt from a Biotics newsletter for doctors and this is our stance as well. My particular comments are in italics.

‘One of the most important health concerns for women today is breast cancer. Statistics show approximately 1 in 7 women will get breast cancer. Those are scary odds. As clinicians, we can make a profound difference. In many cases, we can truly predict and prevent breast cancer; and we can monitor our progress.

Mammograms and early chemo cocktails are not our idea of prevention. Now everyone knows you don’t just wake up one day and find out you have breast cancer. Cancer growth is a process. It takes years before aberrant cells can accumulate to a point where we can feel or even detect a lump. Most women have no idea that they are exposed to something every day that can dramatically speed cancer growth, excess estrogen and estrogen mimics.

Years ago, it was found that estrogen added to cancer cells caused the cancers to grow like wild fire. (Hmmm…is that why in their infinite wisdom, the medical world was promoting estrogen replacement? Big pharma, MORE $$$$$ MORE CANCER MORE $$$$) Later researchers accidentally found that cancers cultured in plastic petri dishes had dramatically accelerated growth even without adding estrogen. It turned out that the phthalates leeching out of the plastic containers were such potent cast estrogen mimics that they turned on the growth of cancer cells.

It’s obvious then that synthetic estrogens, whether they are from prescriptions or from estrogen mimics, can alter our chances for breast and other types of cancer. The bad news is that our society is swimming in a sea of estrogen.

Estrogen mimics or xenoestrogens are used in plastic bottles that hold pop and bottled water. They’re also used in plastic wraps that wrap supermarket meats and vegetables, etc. (Best to avoid microwave ovens all together but for sure DO NOT put plastic wrap over food and reheat it in a mikey.) So don’t be drinking water from plastic bottles either. Have you ever seen a big flat of bottled water sitting outside a store like say Walmart in the hot sun? What do you think is happening to the water? Yep…toxins from the heated plastic are going into the water. Also, think about cosmetics…full of chemicals. Find a company that produces natural cosmetics. Take a further look further into the sources of these chemicals and how they get into our food and water supply so you can be more savvy. Check out the link below to Dr. Mercola’s chat with Dr. Christine Horner, author of ‘Waking the Warrior Goddess’. She has some good info and options for screening instead of mammograms.

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2013/10/20/breast-cancer-prevention.aspx?e_cid=20131020Z1_SNL_Art_1&utm_source=snl&utm_medium=email&utm_content=art1&utm_campaign=20131020Z1

Many of the pesticides and herbicides on our fruits and vegetables have estrogen like activity. The meats we eat are also increasing our estrogen levels. Animals are fed estrogen to increase their water weight before slaughter. One dramatic study demonstrating the effects of xenoestrogens in our drinking water found that male small mouth bass taken from a drinking water source actually had eggs in their testes. EGGS IN THEIR TESTES! These fish were harvested from a river that provides drinking water for millions of people.’

This isn’t the first story I’ve heard about xenoestrogens causing sexual deviances in animals so what’s it doing to humans. Sigh….

What are some other causes?…it isn’t just one thing but there can be bacteria, fungus, parasites and viruses behind cancer so that’s always a consideration. Future treatment methods for cancer will likely be identifying and eliminating one or more of the 4 criminals from a patient. Google Atavistic Therapy and Dr. Frank Arguello MD. He’s ahead of his time in this work.

What you can do….

Test for good/bad estrogen ratios– 2/16 Hydroxyestrone urine test is what to ask for.

Diet wise…here’s a few tips…eat at least 1 cup of cruciferous veggies per day. Arugula, bok choy, broccoflower, broccoli, broccoli rabe, broccoli romanesco, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, Chinese broccoli, Chinese cabbage, collards, cress, daikon, Ethiopian mustard, flowering cabbage greens, horseradish, kale, kohlrabi, mizuna, mustard greens, mustard seeds (brown, white & black), napa cabbage, radish, rutabaga, Siberian kale, tatsoi, turnip root, wasabi, watercress. In fact, this will increase your body’s ability to detoxify harmful liver agents like Tylenol by 20 %. Cruciferous veggies contain multiple nutrients with potent anti-cancer properties: diindolylmethane, sulforaphane, and selenium.

NitroGreens from Biotics contain sprouted cruciferous veg so if you can’t get enough in your diet then here’s a great way to supplement. The sprouted forms are even more potent than the raw or cooked forms. 1 scoop per day is an excellent prevention strategy. It also contains beet and carrot juices which have liver protecting abilities as well. NitroGreens have the alkalizing effect of the grasses.

Ground flax seeds are another good addition to your daily diet. They improve the 2/16 estrogen ratio. 2 tablespoons of ground up flax seeds on salad, in your NitroGreens shake or with the above mentioned cruciferous vegetables has been shown to improve the 2/16 hydroxyestrone ratio as well. That’s over and above what the veggies will accomplish.

Reduce pesticides, plastics and commercial meats (as mentioned, they feed animals estrogen to bulk their water weight up for slaughter-in other words heavier…more $$)

Optimal EFAs (Biotics) are a blend of ultra pure EPA, DHA, organic Flax seed oil, cancer fighting GLA, and a balance of the omega 9 oils. 2 to 3 capsules, 2 times per day will provide excellent protection.

Iodine is sorely lacking in our diet as are most minerals (poor soil management…mega farming don’t care if they replace the essential trace minerals). Read this to get a big shock about our food supply. Liquid Iodine Forte and Multi Mins from Biotics are a way to add iodine and minerals to your diet that you can’t get from food anymore. I wish this wasn’t the case but anyone that says I don’t need to supplement because I eat well should click on the link and read. It will open your eyes, believe me. Iodine protects breast, uterine, prostate and ovarian tissue and is extremely important to optimal endocrine function especially thyroid. Minerals give us our spark so if you wonder why so many people are on anti depressants this is one BIG reason why…way less minerals in our food supply than 30 to 40 years ago. One shocking example…100 years ago the old adage ‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away.’ had some truth. Almost 1/2 our daily need for iron came from one apple. Drum roll….today you would have to eat 26 apples to get the same amount!!! Agghhh!!! Is that not just criminal? We are starving to death yet fatter than we’ve ever been. Extreme measures are going to have to be taken if we are going to survive. It’s not plagues, war and pestilence that will wipe us out but food with no nutrients. We will get weaker and sicker and the rest is yours to speculate. Liquid Iodine Forte-30 drops per day or use a tableted form called Iodizyme- HP. Iodine levels can be assessed through a 24 hour urine collection for more precise protocols. Multi Mins 3 to 6 per day. More if you think you may be dehydrated…most of us are:( It’s minerals that hydrate us not drinking water devoid of minerals. Most tap and bottled water fall into this category.

Supplement with Vitamin D–Bio D Mulsion Forte (Biotics) (emulsified is important but know that not all are created equal-it must not separate. Poor quality emulsions will separate.)

Vitamin D has been shown to cut breast cancer incidence by 77 percent in four years! Of course, other lifestyle factors are also important in preventing cancer, such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, and managing stress. However, vitamin D’s critical importance seems to grow with every emerging study. Carole Baggerly, founder director of GrassrootsHealth—an organization dedicated to increasing awareness about vitamin D and the crucial role it plays in health—believes that as much as 90 percent of ordinary breast cancer is related to vitamin D deficiency, which is 100 percent preventable! Vitamin D levels can be tested. I use 2 drops per day most of the year because we live in a place where the sun isn’t very strong for the bulk of the time.

So here’s some info you might not have known and can now implement in your prevention program. We shouldn’t be scared but well informed and we need to stand up to the ‘politically correct’ dictocrats that are trying to keep us sick and rake in the cash. So speak up!

My Zyto Scan Story

zytoPeople are always curious as to how the Zyto computerized scan can work. So here’s a recent scenario that happened to me (Susan). I think you will find it interesting and it will help you understand how the path to health unfolds. See the video below also.

A couple of months ago I developed a rash on my chest. Unusual for me. So that morning I decided to run a scan and see what would turn up. It was my spleen that was screaming for help and that was a first for me. So later that day I asked my husband (Dr. Van Dueck aka Dr. DiffRANT) to test me with CRA (Contact Reflex Analysis). I didn’t mention the spleen at that time as he would look at the scan afterwards. Guess what showed up? Yep…spleen. So he explained that the spleen is a cleaner upper and it was overloaded and couldn’t get rid of the wastes and was putting them into my skin. So I rummaged around in our inventory and found a bottle of spleen. Yippee! A few days later the rash was gone, never to return.

So some time went by and I had a few issues with lack of minerals and calcium which I corrected. Then about a week ago, I started feeling a bit sluggish and just not quite myself. So yesterday I did a scan and I had 46 markers out. Only 2 products showed up as necessary and the first product on the list would bring back in 42 markers. It was Bio C 1000 from Biotics. So I asked my husband what he thought because spleen was again asking for help as well. He said don’t take spleen right now. He thought I may have an infection. So he tested with CRA and sure enough I have strep…probably in my lungs because I’ve been coughing a bit. So the spleen is trying to clean up the wastes from the infection. Since it is most likely subclinical, it isn’t a full blow horrible sore strep throat or anything like that. But it is sucking my energy and likely causing some minor upper back pain. I’m definitely not out of alignment so I suspect that it is my lungs causing the discomfort. So I embarked on taking 2 Bio C 1000 every 2 hours yesterday and the idea is to do that until you get loose bowels. So today that happened and now I can back off to the recommended dosage on the Zyto report. I’ll continue for a couple of weeks and get rechecked. Check out my scan. You will see that liver, thymus and spleen are troubled. These 3 organs are the immune system.

So the moral of this story is that you can be walking around with bacteria, fungus, parasites and viruses and not even know it. I’m very aware of when I’m not quite right. A lot of people don’t think much of it but you should because it can be dangerous. What do you think is a big part of the cause of …the big C (Yes, Cancer)? Well, staph is what generally causes cysts and tumours. Fungus is another big possible cause. Cancer doesn’t just happen. There has to be a cause. And it isn’t just cancer, other diseases get started due to these buggies taking over. So I’m suggesting you pay attention to the little things so they don’t become big things that are hard or next to impossible to reverse.

I’ll take you back in my life a bit to give you an idea why I may be susceptible to bacteria and why I really keep an eye on that. When I was 7, I went into the hospital for a few days for tests. They couldn’t find anything wrong with me but I know now that I was likely already having thyroid issues (they are in our family). I have since learned how to keep that problem in check but at the time it was causing me to not want to do much physical activity and that was getting me into trouble in gym class.

After I got out of hospital, I had a big ugly boil on my leg. I still remember that thing…huge and full of pus. I know gross! BUT what is a boil caused from? Staph infection. Yes, the best place to get staph is the hospital so thanks to my little stay I came out with a problem that would haunt me for years. What happened next?

Well, a couple of years later I spent the entire summer on my stomach. I guess I was around 9 at the time. I had horrid weeping sores all over my butt. The doctor, Dr. Joint (yes that was his real name and his partner in his office was Dr. Aiken-seriously) had no idea what to do about it. He gave my Mum some special soap and that was about it. It went away eventually (in time for school).

During the next year or so we moved from Ontario to BC and the staph moved with me. We were in a town of 2000 people and I was the only one to get impetigo (staph). I also had styes (staph). I had horrible colds with great big swollen lymph nodes on my neck (staph). It happened so frequently that one of them has never been the size it should be since. It isn’t infected anymore but stretched out of shape. I also had a weird pimply condition on my face. It wasn’t like regular acne and that went on into my 20s.

Eventually I went to UBC and I still suffered from the horrible colds and some skin issues. Finally I met my husband when I was 29 and a couple of years into our relationship, he went to a CRA (Contact Reflex Analysis) seminar in the US. He came back enthralled and started using CRA in the office. I got tested regularly and after clearing up a few things, lo and behold, staph infection showed up. So then I understood my plight all that time. I began the program from Standard Process which consisted of Thymex (to boost the immune system) and Antronex (to clean up the wastes as the staph died off). It was a 3 month program and near the end of that time I remember standing looking in a cupboard for something and I felt an odd tingling and suddenly it popped into my head that I was finally free of it. It was strange because it had been with me most of my life. I had always had this peculiar obsession with Hodgkins Disease so I think my intuition was telling me that if I didn’t get rid of this thing that I was headed in that direction. So since then, all those symptoms and issues I had are gone.

So please pay attention and save yourself the grief I went through. I’m so thankful for the techniques my husband has learned over the years. I’m sure they and he saved my life.

Should Cancer be Cured?

Yes, I’m being a devil’s advocate here but what if we were all well and there was no cancer or other serious illnesses. Would the economic wheels come to a stand still? Would there be horrendous over crowding on the planet? Would we be dying of starvation instead? Hmmmm…Maybe we would. However, I have a feeling that we would find a way to balance things better. Human beings seem to find a way to solve problems although sometimes it makes you wonder with some of the political decisions that get made. BUT if decisions were made with care, good judgement etc and weren’t made with only ecnomics in mind, I think things would become more balanced but I guess we need some imbalances or we wouldn’t have anything to complain about. LOL

I belong to a discussion group on Linked in – Women’s Wellness that Works. Check out the comments about curing cancer. I like many of the participants in the discussion, think there is a cure. The AMA and other medical organizations would rather we don’t know that because lots of money gets made from  pharmaceutical treatments for cancer and all kinds of other ailments. It’s big business and probably bigger than we realize.

Here’s one of my pet peeves…Mammograms. Not only are they not all that accurate but they are very painful and they ARE radiation. Now think about it…after a certain age we women are all supposed to go and get one every year. So every year you are radiating your boobs!!! Aghhh! I have never had one and never will unless they drag me kicking and screaming! There is another way and it’s called Thermography. We have been telling people about this for years but there aren’t that many places that do it in Vancouver or on Vancouver Island. If anyone knows of some places, please comment and let’s build a list.

Another pet peeve that isn’t about cancer but probably contributes to the rise in cancer and all kinds of other illnesses, are vaccines…particularly flu shots. Another thing you will have to drag me kicking and screaming to get. I love to look at the timeline of when they were first introduced and how well the marketing people have done to get them to be mainstream. At first they were only for older people that were at risk for pneumonia, then they were marketed for children who were at risk, then bit by bit they were pushed on everyone. Now every year there are notices about flu clinics all over the place and we can cheerfully show up and get poked so we can be well all season. What a load of BS! Many people get sick anyway or get sick from the shot itself and then what about the long term issues they cause. We don’t even know about that! That’s a secret! Anyway, enough ranting. Check out the discussion and see what other people are thinking about all this.

Our Lymph System is Like a Recycling Depot

The 3 R’s of body fluid;    Reduce,   Recycle  and   Re-use

Think of your body as a community. Think of your community’s recycling depot. Now compare your body’s fluid system as a liquid delivery vehicle to the recycling depot.

There is 40 times more volume of lymph in our bodies, than blood; WOW!

And even more WOWier, is the fact that this delivery system brings all our body fluid to the depot every one hour and twenty minutes, 24/7.

Our food is first reduced through digestion, then filtered in the liver, lungs and kidneys and then sent to the depot or cistern for recycling and reuse in the blood.

THIS CONSTANT PROCESS IS WHY OUR CELLS STAY ALIVE.  THIS IS SUSTAINABILITY!

The lymph system has channels and nodes. The nodes act like jails and trap the criminals that can cause us harm; such as bacteria, fungus, parasites and viruses. They are then acted upon by the immune system for removal by stool, urine or sweat.

Their journey ends in the cistern chyli found in our abdomen which then sends the final cleansed lymph up through the thoracic duct to the final cistern and into the heart for recycling. That final cistern is found on a line down from the left side of our neck to a point around 12 o’clock on the left chest, above the nipple about 3-4 inches. When this cistern congests the lymph fluid, well, rots. We call it the pus reflex. Sometimes a hiatal hernia about the aortic hiatus of the diaphragm squeezes off the flow. This spasm must be reduced manually, a simple procedure performed by the patient.

The most effective way to remove the pus is by incineration, just like taking the garbage to the dump where it is burned. Our body contains a natural burner, sulphur for this purpose. That is why sulpha medicines have been so effective; they burn off the criminal(s).

Our product of choice is from Biotics Research Methionine 200 S. S for sulphur. Used for a few weeks, as well as reducing the hernia, it is effective in burning off the wastes or pus.

Like goldfish in an aquarium, you can only put so many in the water. Too many and the water contaminates and the fish die. Our lymph system is like that; too much waste that cannot be recycled produces sickness. Keep your lymph clean, like the water in the fish tank and we can “live long and prosper.” !!!
